Mountain Research Hooded Mackinaw Jacket

A jolt of color in one’s outerwear can be an electrifying blast, but going all-over orange or yellow can get a little loud, pulling your look dangerously into crossing guard territory. The perfect resolution perhaps lies in this Mackinaw Jacket by Mountain Research. Juiced up in orange on top, with a snappy yet sobering beige lower section, the rain-ready coat gets the proportions of bright just right. Available online at NaturalThing.jp.
The Hill-Side Scarf in Indigo Chambray

You_Have_Broken_The_Internet blog points us out to this wonderful scarf by Hill-Side. While the chambray love is still strong amongst the shirt circle, Hill-Side gives us a unique accessory for the fall season. The stitch detailing is superb as well as the color contrast of the indigo chambray and the lining. A number of these scarves will be available in November in Indigo, Black, Plum Violet, and Kyoto Violet.

The men’s blog formerly known as h(y)r collective, re-branded in recent weeks as INVENTORY, continues its mega make-over with its first video posts: a visit to the British Columbia factory of Viberg Boots, a company that’s sidestepping the expected collaborations with hip fashion houses to re-devote itself to crafting top quality boots. The Style of Mad Men – Brooks Brothers

Ironic that a product inspired by a show about advertising didn’t need any ad-magic of its own to become a big seller. The $998 Don Draper inspired suit created by Mad Men wardrobe designer Janie Bryant for Brooks Brothers is already oversold. Since apparently the slick retro style that the series has helped to popularize is here to stay, plans for an expanded line of Mad-ish evening dresses, accessories, and additional suits is reportedly now in the works.

Union Glashutte – Noramis

German watchmaker UNION GLASHÜTTE recently released its Noramis collection, which includes their first timepiece for women. A.P.C – Duffle Coat

Swedish style shop FreudianKicks has punted a gray A.P.C. duffle coat into its online shop. Toggled and hooded, it clearly carries the hushed, timeless charm of all of A.P.C.’s designs, but for that truly French flavor of cool we kindly recommend a decidedly snugger fit than that of the model’s pictured on the F-Kicks website. Such a coat calls to be worn taut and trim, not loose and lazy.

British Military Style Editorial

Men around the world have found numerous reasons over the centuries to set aside their fears and enlist in the military. Honor, patriotism, adventure. A new layout lensed by Tokumaru Junichiro titled British Military Style may very well inspire a new generation of UK kids to join the marching ranks solely for the sake of its fashions. The field-trench coats, zippered fatigue trousers, and red woolen general jackets rationed into the story make for some heroically handsome uniforms. It does make a lad wonder, would the front lines really be so brutal if you were dressed so fine and fierce?
