Ray-Ban 2009 Summer Collection

For over 70 years, Ray-Ban has been providing the masses with classics like the Aviator, Wayfarer, Outdoorsman, Clubmaster and the Jackie Ohh. The eyewear company adds a new twist to these originals in their 2009 summer collection, while still remaining as classic as when General Douglas MacArthur landed on the beaches of the Philippines in World War II donning a pair of Aviators. By moving away from the conventional and infusing them with bolder colors, Ray-Ban adds a fresh update to their iconic frames.

Common Projects first jaunt into sunglasses brings a simple flat black frame with wayfarer styling and gray smoke lenses. As with their shoes I’m anticipating great quality with understated but classic looks to come from their eye wear.

With the gold bridge and signature arrow symbol at the temple, these Ratti Aviator frames have a distinctly vintage vibe, a perfect match for the Baracuta jacket and other nods to retro style seen everywhere this spring. These frames are available in black and tortoise shell, and can also be retrofitted with dark lenses for the summer sun, if you so desire. You can find them at Refinery 29.
