Haywood Suits by Steven Alan

haywood-steven-alan-main

New images of Steven Alan’s Haywood suits have emerged on the web. Embodying an American prep era, the various looks, as shot by photographer Dan Weaver, display the slim-cut and casual construction of the Haywood suits in their entirety or as separates. There is use of several fall tones, and the cotton and wool fabrics used look incredibly soft, accenting to that overall vintage and classic aesthetic. These pieces will only be available at the NY Tribeca location of Steven Alan on Franklin St.

power-suit-robb-report-main

Photographer David Roemer and models Jason Morgan and Terron Wood have made a five photo study on the power of the suit. Each photo has a different aesthetic theme, from browns and pinstripes to the blue suit and red power tie to a sleek, more formal black and black. Dressing up has been back for a minute now, but the innovators are still hard at work.

Club Monaco Suits by Timothy Farah

Stealing a page from AMC’s Mad Men, Club Monaco’s upcoming suit collection will feature a truly tailored fit. Headed by new menswear designer, Timothy Farah, Club Monaco’s new suit bodies will include the Wright, a suit with a narrow shorter jacket and high break, and the Kennedy, a suit with a more standard but still slimmed down fit. Both the Wright and Kennedy will be the centerpieces of the Fall collection and may remind you of a time when corporate executives put their best foot forward by daily sporting a polished suit that made them appear calm, collected and in-control.

The new affordable line of suits highly resemble those worn by the impeccably dressed characters on the Golden Globe winning AMC show Mad Men, which storylines revolve around executives in a Madison Avenue ad agency during the 1960’s. The suits include details such as grosgrain taping, mother-of-pearl buttons and working buttonholes at the cuff and will be sold for under $500.
