Miharayasuhiro – Fall 2010 Show (With Video)

In terms of prints, Miharayasuhiro gets the nod as most original. For his Fall 2010 show, we see a lot more than just buffalo checks this winter, he introduces gradient colors of blue, and other ethnic all over patterns. Stripes are also evident, as well as patched up and off balanced designs. It’s truly remarkable how creative Miharayasuhiro can get with his garments. Layering is also a wow factor in the collection, the mixture of denim and wool, alongside plaids and chunky knits makes it one of the most versatile this season.

TENDER Co. – Autumn/Winter 2010 Preview

There’s a respectable poetic characteristic behind the TENDER brand. According to their website, the British label’s name comes from the part of the train where coal and water is carried to power the locomotive. Made out of cast iron, it was built to be strong and solid, and placed between the engine and the carriages to allow the train to haul many tons of freight across Britain. Tender also means, “to care for.” The label proves to have all these characteristics with their denim construction. It’s rough and rugged enough for those who work hard in their clothes, but “tender” enough for those who pay extra close attention to their things. It’s a smart balance between working hard and being nurturing. As for the Autumn/Winter 2010, we look forward to what TENDER Co. will have in store in the denim department, but also excited to see what pieces will complement their denim products.

Phillip Sparks – Behind the Scenes Videos for Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

Phillip Sparks is fast becoming a SwipeLife favorite, and our favoritism has increased now with these behind the scene looks at the label’s upcoming Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. For the season’s range, Phillip looks to the classic book Moby Dick as inspiration. Themes of maritime life, seafaring men, and naval environments become central to the designs of Autumn and Winter. Sparks follows the darker tones of the story to fully convey his looks and styles. While the first video tells of Sparks’s influence for his collection, video 2 is a quick montage of Sparks at work doing trimmings, ironing, and sewing. Video 3, which is the latest in the series, is behind the scenes look at the Fall lookbook photoshoot, which will bring the range all together. Hopefully more videos will come as we slowly start to see this great collection from start to finish.
