To wrap up the Ronnie Fieg x Red Wing collaboration we take a look at the third and final piece of the collection, the “Ashy Navy” 875. For this year’s 6” make-up, Fieg chooses a unique shade of Navy distressed leather and to stay consistent with his previous two 875 make-ups he keeps the black welt and black heel spike along with two leather lace options of navy or black. Red Wing gets together with Ronnie Fieg of David Z. for the third straight year to work on the 877 8” classic. For this project Ronnie brought back his “Ashy Grey” leather, a successful collaboration from last fall, along with Red Wing’s most classic and recognizable color-way, the Oro Russet. Both boots come with two sets of laces including a leather option, and are both limited to 120 pairs priced at $290.00. Shoe manufacturers New Balance introduce an innovative idea with their variation of their 574 line, entitled the ‘574 Clips Collection’. Constructed from leftover materials salvaged from New Balance’s factory in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the 574 has been re-engineered, removing unnecessary foams in the tongue and collar to reduce heat and bulk. 574 Clips Collection also launched a unique campaign featured on 574Clips.com, a website where all 480 pairs have each been filmed in seperate short films. Limited to 120 pairs per colour, the shoe comes in four colorways: grey/blue, grey/green, grey/orange and grey/burgundy.

Pierre Hardy x Kitsune Shoes

Footwear label Pierre Hardy and Kitsune, both fashion institutions in their native France, collaborate once again for a line of shoes and desert boots entitled ‘Series 6′, available in a range of different colours. Fully made from calf skin, the slim-fit shoes were created in Italy and feature a soft suede upper, thin leather soles, and contrasted colour laces. Guidi – Fall/Winter 2009

To help promote their upcoming autumn collections, Guidi have released two extremely-well shot videos directed by Alessandro Tinelli, who has created short promotional films for designers such as Damir Doma and Issei Fujita’s Lumen et Umbra line. The Italian label, who specialise in creating high quality footwear and bags made from leather and canvas, unveil their newest offerings in the form of two unorthodox short films (one of which is repeated on their website) that can be classed as ‘arty shorts’, joining the ever-growing number of brands that combine the themes of art and fashion.
