Our good friends at the Fine and Dandy Shop just gave us a heads up on their new Fall 2009 Lookbook. The stylings are very inspirational for anyone looking to add a few new touches to their wardrobe this season. We especially love the fact that a hat or cap is involved in every look. Conference of Birds – Fall/Winter 2009 Lookbook
With Autumn’s chill starting to set in, Conference of Birds A/W 09 lookbook becomes increasingly more relevant and needed. With thick scarves and chunky sweaters, as well as cozy wool overcoats and leather dusters, the latest collection steps into a more rugged realm of British sensibilities, a noted departure from the previous year’s tailored, somewhat youthful take on cold-weather clothing.

Hare – Autumn/Winter 2009 Lookbook
Famous for offering a great fashion alternative on an affordable budget, popular Japanese brand Hare release images from their newest lookbook, showcasing pieces from their fall collection. Incorporating a muted colour palette, with flashes of maroon and navy blue, Hare enter the autumn season with a plethora of casual buttoned shirts and knitwear such as cardigans and v-neck sweaters. The collection also features several peacoats, an essential hooded parka jacket, and an assortment of hats to round off the lineup.

Japanese web magazine Unbar offers an online outlet for thumbing through the SiFury 2009 Autumn/Winter lookbook. Risk-free pieces including roomy plaid work shirts and sagging khakis set the basis for the new collection, punctuated by more adventurous designs such as not-quite-camouflage printed pants and county jail-styled yard jackets. Paolo Pecora Milano – Fall/Winter 2009
Paola Picaro’s FW 09/10 Lookbook brings a little bit of realism back to fashion–the kind that’s been missing, even in “these economic times.” While the clothes speak for themselves with sturdy wools, rich tweeds, and toasty layering, it’s refreshing to see them presented in an everyday setting: the coffee shop. The collection, and the setting, set a mood that isn’t grand or cutting edge, but attainable and on point–giving the overall presentation a dash of Ralph Lauren-esque maturity.

Topman Ltd. Autumn/Winter 2009 Lookbook
One thing to give to Topman: the brand is consistent. Consistent in its evolution. While the new Topman Ltd. Collection’s AW ‘09 Lookbook “(emphasizes) design, detail, fabric, and finish”, the line is much like other Topman offerings, in that it has classic pieces in modern fits, as well as pieces that would be considered perhaps a bit too interesting to wear to the office. In the classic pieces category: a beautiful navy shawl collar sweater-blazer, a gray formal wool overcoat, and classic men’s trousers. In the former category: a black pin-dot dress shirt, puffy blue bow tie, and plum (with cream striping) blazer. In its way, Topman delivers splendidly on its consistency, for depending on one’s lifestyle (and workplace) the collection offers something for you. Thus, something for everyone. Tiger of Sweden – Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook
Renowned label Tiger of Sweden have taken a more-than-usual casual approach for their upcoming spring collection. The brand, founded all the way back in 1903 by tailors Hjalmar Nordström and Markus Schwarmann, are traditionally known for their sophisticated formal wear, having started their trade dressing Sweden’s finest in suits to wear to work. Now a more contemporary brand, designers Christian Lippich and Ronnie McDonald have helped to draw the fine line between casual and formal wear with their newest lineup. Placing an emphasis on bright colours and fitted aesthetics, their creative pieces such as a shawl neck sweater and a cropped leather jacket are as equally stylish as their sleek, chic suits.

Lagom – Fall 2009 Lookbook
Snow-speckled slopes set the stage for Swedish label Lagom’s Fall 2009 lookbook, showcasing a collection kick-started by the concepts of “Nordic melancholy and American gang culture.” The tunic takes its position at the head of the collection through mod-ish, military inspired shirts, of course, as well as in the cuts of the collection’s plum and wine shaded wool coats. Bergdorf Goodman – Fall 2009 Lookbook
Just when one thought it was safe to call Barney’s the king of fashion retail in New York this fall, Bergdorf Goodman puts out another lookbook that makes it too close to call. With Liz Collins, Jacob Sutton, and David Slijper behind the tripod, BG in Print brings the fall wardrobe of Bergdorf to live in vivid detail. D & G, Tom Ford, Michael Kors, and Ralph Lauren Black Label all make appearances and the result is “molto maschile”.

La Mont Saint Michel Photoshoot
French label Le Mont Saint Michel employ the talents of photographer James Bort and designer Christian ‘Le Modalogue’ Poulot, both well-known bloggers in their native France to create a photoshoot to celebrate their collaboration line with Belgian band Das Pop. Featuring Das Pop’s frontman Bent Van Looy sporting an array of clothing for next year, Le Mont Saint Michel’s newest apparel is a chic, modern selection of cardigans and jumpers, each incorporating different styles such as black-and-white diamond patterns in one piece and pink colour in another, adding details to classic silhouettes in the process. The label, a very old brand name first established in 1913, continue to to create collections combining authenticity and a specialised fashion with a strong identity.
