KZO Spring/Summer 2010 Collection – Into the Blue

kzo-intotheblue-main

KZO’s line-up for next Spring and Summer manages to extract the hippest trends from the current crop of casual streetwear and creates their own collection that is very much of the moment. Their collection entitled, “Into the Blue, Out of the Black,” draws its inspiration from workwear such as chambray shirts and denim work jackets; prep-inspired cardigans, khakis and checkered shorts; rustic outerwear such as the mountain parka, sweats, plaid and checkered shirts and the American-Indian shorts which has sprouted up in several Japanese designer collections. All of these looks are made into a cohesive line by pairing it with those tattered Japanese selvage denim and Doc Martens which add to the youth and rebellion.

KZO has released a huge lookbook for their 2009 Autumn/Winter collection. Filled to the brim with images of the slightly disheveled looks, the “Hallowed Ground” collection features all the normal winter staples mixed with a few new details. Jackets and coats in tweed, waxed canvas, and weathered leather make up the outerwear segment, while buffalo print flannels, heavy knit sweaters and cardigans, and several button downs round out the large collection.

L.A. based KZO present their Seaton Shorts from their latest Summer line. The slim-fitting shorts hit just above the knee. Their leg tapers a bit at the hem but can be unbuttoned to allow for more movement. Other features include trouser-style front pockets, single button-down back pocket, front coin pocket along waist band, and zip fly with button and drawstring up top. The button tabs and back pocket are the interesting details to the structure of the short. You can get them at BlackBird.
