Griffin Reversible Baracuta G9 Jacket

Back on racks after decades of dismissal, the Baracuta jacket’s return to relevance continues with this reversible collaboration with Griffin. Showier and less staid in a micro dogtooth polyester on one side and Desert Camo DPM with contrasting red sleeves on the reverse, the coat offers two tricked out takes on the conservative classic for the cost of one. Victorinox Swiss Army – Fall/Winter 2009

The first thing that may come to mind when thinking of Victorinox Swiss Army may be a red utility knife equipped with toothpick and wine opener, but the brand also has innovative apparel coming for the 2009 Fall/Winter season. Their latest collection features the use of technological advances in outerwear, including materials like a 3-layer waterproof breathable membrane used on select items. Also included in the collection are traditional pieces such as cardigans, knitwear and bottoms.

Post Overalls Engineer’s Jacket

The Japanese label’s roots stem from vintage workwear, military outfits, and outdoor-wear. This is the rugged appeal that Takeshi Ohfuchi tries to put across in his Post Overalls collections. The Engineer’s Jacket is the exemplary garment that holds true to this design philosophy. It has cemented its place in Post Overalls line since it’s been around since the brand’s inception. We saw them recently at the Capsule Trade Show in NYC, and they have been tight-lipped about when they will consider extending their stockists to include the US market. Dries Van Noten Khaki Cropped Valence Jacket

One of the highlights from Dries Van Noten’s fall collection is the cropped Valence rain jacket. The Belgian designer provides a piece that is good enough for the rainiest of days and also a nice alternative to the 60/40 parka. The khaki cropped polyurethane and cotton jacket is available now at L.A.’s South Willard for $667.

British label Fred Perry has a slick alternative for the rainy season that is currently upon us. The Scooter Mac is constructed in a military green rain resistant cotton, and features a drawstring hood, full-length zippered front and a cinched waist to keep the wind at bay. Barbour Classic Duffle Long and Short Jacket

Barbour’s recent resurgence in the classic menswear arena has been very well documented. Now with two versions of the always popular duffle (or toggle) coat, in a camel color with a traditional length and a shorter more contemporary length in a great navy blue. With leather accents, horn toggles, detachable hood, and zippered closure the coat features all the standbys of the classic duffle but in a modern cut and high quality materials. Engineered Garments Field Parka

New York-based brand Engineered Garments have unveiled their latest piece from their long line of field parkas, this time in a denim blue colour. The label, founded by Japanese designer Daiki Suzuki in 1999, is influenced by American sportswear and outdoor clothing, and feature detailing rarely seen from most other brands today. Their blue parka is no different. Made of 100% cotton, it includes four front pockets and a side zip pocket just behind the right-hand sleeve. Available at Remix.
Soulland ‘Jorgensen’ in Black

23 year-old Silas Adler started Soulland at the age of 17. With no formal design education, Adler has developed the label from homemade t-shirts to a full men’s collection, and has been nominated as Denmark’s best upcoming designer and Scandinavian talent of the year. With the “Jorgensen” jacket, Adler has created a lightweight, cotton pullover. Details include multiple pockets and drawstring adjustments. The black “Jorgensen” has a polka dot print and is now available at Goodhood.
