Feather Pins by Franz Blumtritt and Sons

feather-lapel

Valet Mag puts us up on a stylish trend. Ditch the prom flower on the lapel and upgrade to feather boutonnieres. Specifically, these feather pins by Franz Blumtritt and Sons are the perfect accessories for this worth-the-try trend. “The traditional gamsbart, which is what this pin is based on, is typically worn on the hat of hunters in the Alpine region of Europe. In theory, the size of the gamsbart reflects one’s manliness.” Available at the Cooper Hewitt Museum Shop for $40.

A.P.C. Spring Collection

apc-2009-spring-preview-main

The brand sticks to its cleancut and minimalist nature for Spring. My experience with APC has indicated that they strive on providing quality fabric and construction for what may appear as very “simple” and “basic” pieces. The fit as demonstrated on the models in the lookbook enhances the wardrobe, and this would translate well onto anyone in the street. The collection appears to have a nod at the 80’s as evidenced by the looks put together using denim jackets and varsity jackets. Check out the rest of the collection after the jump.

Raf Simons for Fred Perry Spring/Summer 2009

The Raf Simons for Fred Perry collection this coming Spring / Summer season takes cue from West African culture for their range. The brighter color range such as orange, blue, and honey hues bring about a more vibrant that fuses punk culture and African influences. THOF reports that the collection of 25 pieces includes the expected Perry polos and knits but also includes a variety of new goods including a Harrington slim fit jacket and slip-on loafers.
