Marc by Marc Jacobs – Fall 2010 Show (With Video)

A bit of color has gone missing in the Marc by Marc Jacobs line this Fall/Winter for the men’s range compared to last season. What it lacks in color however, makes up for in an array of versatile looks. Olive green garb is presented as more of a militaristic addition to the collection, while blue and black gets a bit more of a formal treatment as suits and blazers. Black and white also appear in the collection to balance out the entire range with items such as trousers, flight suits, and outerwear.

Calvin Klein – Fall 2010 Show (With Video)

What was best about Calvin Klein’s collection last fall was the sci-fi feel to the clothes. A lot of the pieces, especially the outerwear, had the appearance of clean laser cut lines that almost made the whole range look flawless. This time around Calvin Klein follows up by implementing more of the futuristic looks towards the surface. Rigid embossed textures such as lines, marble print, and scratch patterns could be found on the blazers, suits, and outerwear. There’s also a certain unique luminescence to the leather products as well which sets the collection apart from the other labels this Fall 2010. If you’re version of the future is a bit more subtle, crisp, and clean, then look to the Calvin Klein range for a more intelligent spaced out wardrobe.

Umit Benan channels the styles of “Retired Rockers” as inspiration for his Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. Some of the looks are reminiscent of bands like the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springstein. Put that image in your head and envision them all having a jam session. This is the mood Umit Benan is trying to convey. While the folks modeling the clothes are of age, its their style that will always live on, just like the music of Rock N’ Roll.

kiryuyrik – Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook

We’ll be first to admit that Japanese label kiryuyrik is not for everyone, but we do however feel that there are some looks and styles in their lookbook that deserve the attention. Foremost, construction of their suits are quite interesting and there’s a certain Pulp Fiction meets Itchi the Killer vibe going on that we find entertaining. The prints and patterns might be too daring for some also, but the simple pieces such as the leather jackets, long blazers, trousers, and some of the other outerwear are really something to look after.

Outdoor outfitters, Mt. Rainier Designs just updated their website with their Spring/Summer 2010 range. In it you will find a bevy of items MRD is well known for. Some standouts that are on our radar are the Panamint Hood Vest, the Short Parka, and the Duffle and Bungee packs. There aren’t a lot of labels out there doing what MRD is doing in terms of outdoor wear production, and it’s good to see that their Spring range is something outdoor fans can be proud of.
