Brian Wood – “Our Ransom is Love” Spring 2010 Collection

Brian Wood’s Spring 2010 Collection entitled, “Our Ransom is Love” is one of the more original collections this coming seaon in terms of patterns and colors. Although the silhouettes are nothing we’ve seen before, the creative thought process in adding purple or green camo prints make the range standout. The play on orange works as well and the checkered and stripe button downs are some of the items we’ll co-sign.

KG by Kurt Geiger – Nubian

The Nubian model by KG Kurt Geiger comes in an olive and brown colorway. It is a casual lace-up ankle boot with stitched leather detail and rubber sole. Its upper is of leather fabric as well as its lining. The sole is made up of synthetic and is a nice contrast to the rest of the shoe. Available now at KG by Kurt Geiger.
Perks and Mini (PAM) – “Good/Bad” Autumn/Winter 2010 Lookbook

In an interview with SlamXHype, Misha of PAM describes their Autumn/Winter 2010 collection to be inspired by the opposites that exist in the world. “The whole world’s made up of opposites and similarities: ups/downs, (uppers/downers), in/outs, GOOD/BAD. You need that balance. Without Ying there aint no Yang. Where there’s George, sometimes there’s Tilda.” The collection is made up of knits, unique graphics, Japanese fabrics, shirtings, accessories, and more. You can see that some of the graphics are pretty out there (which would be the “bad” side of the collection. But then again they come together so well in the collection, that the result is actually “good.” Quite unique and interesting.

WASTE(TWICE) – “Escape Outfitters” Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook

“Escape Outfitters” is the title of Waste(Twice)’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection. The Japanese label looks to offer casual clothing for the adventurer types who are also adept to keeping the journey ahead in style. As another label inspired by the brave frontiersmen of the past, Waste(Twice)’s collection consists of pieces that mix ruggedness with a bit of class and smarts. Items such as chambray jackets paired with wingtip shoes are just some of the styles evident in the lookbook. Other items include mountain parkas, overalls, vests, patchwork shirts and shorts, espadrilles, single needle denim, caps, bags, and more.

Omar Kashoura – Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook

Omar Kashoura’s Spring/Summer 2010 Collection is entitled “Popeye in Trouville.” Kashoura’s color choices for the collection spans in pinkish to orange hues, blues, greys, peach, and purple. As always, Kashoura infuses a lot of his modern gentleman style with a bit of the artistic twist in the construction as he is known for. With his studies in London, it is evident in Kashoura’s collection, the importance of tailoring and quality materials. These are seen in his suits and other tailored materials such as shirts and trousers in the collection. Omar Kashoura pieces are currently stocked in London Japan and Italy.

We’ve mentioned Ute Ploier before as having one of the most truly original aesthetics in terms of construction in the fashion industry. Her knack for details and layers are outstanding, but its how she shapes her pieces on the male form is what makes her collections outstanding. For Autumn/Winter 2010, Ute Ploier mixes avant-garde styles with a casual, wearable twist. The use of plaids and solids with long draping garments make her collection really one of a kind during Paris Fashion Week.

Dolce & Gabbana Editorial for VMAN

Decadent, tacky, fashionable, kitsch, luxurious. Whatever your thoughts are on Dolce & Gabbana, there is still no denying their cultural impact on the fashion world. A current editorial in VMAN pays homage to the brand by mixing and styling pieces from past collections. The styling reflects the over the top identity of the brand with its many details, trimmings, prints, patterns, and more. Clothes are piled on models and even with this unorthodox way of putting on clothes for a shoot, the D&G aesthetic still comes out well in the editorial.

Targeted for the 22 to 35 crowd, the label hopes to garner more followers of the brand by putting international stars in their campaigns. Their current ads star Orland Bloom and Agyness Deyn in a campaign that shows us a fun side to the brand as well as their inspiration of the west coast.
