Vanishing Elephant – Spring and Fall 2010 Collections
Vanishing Elephant will be releasing their Spring and Fall 2010 Collections into two sections. The collection for Spring will be entitled Northern Hemisphere while the Fall collection will reflect the Southern Hemisphere. Here are some images from their upcoming range which will include knits, plaid suits, vests, leather, and footwear. The seasons call for a mixture of dandy inspired clothing with looks that are relaxed and refined.

Gant Rugger – Spring/Summer 2010 Looks
At its pinnacle, Gant was revered as the go-to shirtmaker for the leagues of college students in the US. Designer, Christopher Bastian has revived that essence that was so commonly associated with the label back then. The new interpretations featured in Gant’s Spring and Summer collection are all the recognized staples from American-prep heritage. These include knitwear with cable stitching and nautical stripes and shirting from classically tailored oxfords to fine Indian madras. All of the outerwear featured on the Gant Rugger site also captures this spirit with a great collection of waxed cotton jackets and parkas, varsity jackets and Barracuda-style offerings. Bastin has managed to revitalize these classic looks and usher them into the new decade with great construction and style.

Dockers Brand – Wear the Pants Campaign
As part of their Wear the Pants campaign, Dockers will be showcasing new items in their collection. There are 3 different categories: the soft khaki, the tailored khaki and the military khaki. The soft khaki is 100% cotton and available in 10 different colors. The sophisticated palette includes Confederate Blue, Lotus Green, Desert Red and Ocean Spray to name a few. The D fit series ranges from D1 slim tailored fit to the D2 straight to the D3 classic and the D4 relaxed: The D1 slim fit comes in 3 solid textured fabrications and 3 pattern fabrications. Lastly, the military inspired K-1 will always have a button fly and always resemble authentic military hardware.

Kapital – Azure Anarchy – Spring/Summer 2010
The nomadic element is alive and well in Kapital’s new Spring/Summer 2010 collection. For the season, the brand brings in a more colorful range with pieces the reflect the brand’s mixture of travel and native inspired clothing. Entitled Azure Anarchy, pieces such as uniquely constructed denim products, tiger print tops, worker detailed outerwear, and oversized knits are in line with the label’s travel vision. This is one of the more unique fashion brands out in Japan and it speaks well to those who respect and are influenced by global cultural influences.

Closed – Fall/Winter 2010 Lookbook
German label Closed was actually founded in Italy in the 1970’s as a denim brand. With its expansion throughout the years, the label has undergone its transformation from denim label to casual and functional clothing retailer. For Fall/Winter 2010, the label gets a little rugged with its usual sophisticated styles. A mixture of denim and leather is thrown in the mix with pieces that feature worn in details. The knits go well with the scarves and the outerwear, and we’re certainly fans of Johnny Depp-esque looks. A few items that standout are the denim pieces, a camel coat, the scarves, and the cropped trousers.

Indochino – The Wall Street Gentleman
One of our favorite suit makers Indochino will begin releasing a new custom-made collection each month. For the Gordon Gecko guy in mind, March will bring the release of the brand’s The Wall Street Gentleman collection. The range includes five power suits with key details including peak lapels, chalk stripes, double-breasted blazers, and three-piece suits. Some of the options for the month include the Bull Market Double-Breasted Suit, $399, a slim-cut charcoal pinstripe double-breasted suit with peak lapels and slit pockets, and the Majority Shareholder Suit, $429, a steel gray silk/wool blend with peak lapels and slit pockets. GANT by Michael Bastian Event Video
SwipeLife was in attendance during Gant by Michael Bastian’s launch during New York Fashion Week. It was one of the more unique showings during NYFW as the collection was unveiled inside an old basketbal gym. Appropriately, the clothes were showin in locker room fashion, as well as a fenced background for the more casual pieces. Here is a video from the label exhibiting was transpired during the launch.

Fin’s Limited Edition Amalfi Collection
Fin’s is introducting the Amalfi Collection on their site. It is a limited edition range exclusive for Summer 2010 and incorporates luxury linen material from supplier Alicante. The capsule collection is inspired by the pared down simple chic of the 1950’s Italian Riviera. Comes in three colors and models named Revello, Sorrento, and Positano. Available now at Fin’s for Him.

Good Ol’ & Co. – Spring/Summer 2010 Looks
Japanese label Good Ol’ & Co. is a combination of workwear and outdoor inspired garments. There’s also a certain traditional aesthetic to their pieces which is exhibited in their Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook. Comparable to the likes of Engineered Garments, Good Ol’ & Co. puts out a collection that include old dobby shirts, baker pants, fatigue print garments, and more. Some prints are truly unique such as aloha prints, shell prints, fatigues, and animal, but are subtle enough as to not make them too dominant.

Bruuns Bazaar – Autumn/Winter 2010 Show
Danish label Bruuns Bazaar by brother Teis and Bjørn Bruun presents a Fall/Winter collection that is reminiscent to James Dean’s style. The classic leather jacket, the oversized coat, checkered short sleeve tops, and added suits, blazers, and denim, make the collection complete for a look that personifies 1950’s cinema cool.
