Via Snella Fall 2009 Collection

A refreshing revision of seasonal dressing, the Fall 2009 collection from Via Snella injects the expected appearance of deep, dark denims and thick cardigans with pops of vibrant prints in lightweight fabrics. Loose leggings and layering tees patterned like the bedsheets from a 1970s San Juan hotel suite bring an energy and exoticism most men’s collections sidestep until Spring.

Robert Geller’s new capsule collection for Levi’s promises a return to classic workwear with pieces that reflect quintessential denim styles. Winner of GQ’s Best Menswear Designer of America this year, Geller’s meticulous detail work comes through bravely in the collection capturing the vintage aesthetics Levi’s is known for. It’s also quite exciting to see that the range seem to circle around the one most important item in the collection – a vintage pair of 501’s from the sixties. The collection will release September 10th 2009 at selected Levi’s retailers.

Wings + Horns Fall/Winter 2009

Vancouver’s premier men’s retailer Roden Gray blessed us all with a sneak peak of the highly anticipated line from the pride of their city, Wings + Horns. The Japanese-Canadian design team at Wings + Horns doesn’t disappoint their loyal followers who have been waiting patiently for the new Fall/Winter ‘09 line up. The collection is very casual and laid back, but while the items look comfortable enough to curl up on the couch in, you’ll think twice after considering the high quality material used to make them. Cotton / Cashmere Crews, Beanies and Scarves automatically demand a higher level of respect don’t they? A Diamond Knit Henley and Wool Hand-knit Hoodie deserve trips to the local dry cleaner, not the bottom of your hamper with the ordinary stuff.
All things considered, Wings + Horns may have outdone themselves with their star Melton Wool Award Jackets (Dark Oxford/Navy) and co-star Box Rib Cardigan (Navy/Gray). Likely to be the best varsity jackets and cardigans this Fall / Winter season its a wonder how they’re going to top them next year. Don’t worry guys, that’s an awesome problem to have.
Visit Wings + Horns for a listing of all the retailers slated to carry pieces from the line this month in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
