Tsun-miya House by Taira Nishizawa Architects

tsun-miya-main

The Tsun-miya House by Taira Nishizawa Architects is designed with minimalism in mind, both exterior and interior. What you’ll see with the Tsun-miya House is how it is able to connect to the outside world. Privacy is controlled through the walls, giving the home owner the option of letting others see inside. The roof is translucent as to let natural light in, and to experience the motions of the day in real time. The interior however is small, but very comfortable. There is even a small square foot backyard area that leads to the laundry room.

Fiber & Fellow 2009 Fall/Winter Collection

fiber-fellow-fall-winter-2009-main

This excellently styled and photographed lookbook comes from L.A. label Fiber & Fellow. For the Fall/Winter 2009 range, Brooklyn born designer Jayson Santos cooks up a collection that genuinely reflects the mood, colors, and the overall environment of the season. There is a soft balance between the garments and nature (of Fall). We especially like the knits and the western shirts. The minimal approach and departure from the excess really makes this a standout collection, giving truth to the adage that (in men’s fashion at least), “less is more.”

Sahja Fall/Winter 2009 Looks

sahaja-main

Sahja’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection is a combination of masculinity and sophistication with an outdoorsman/adventurer aesthetic. The quality and comfort of the pieces throughout the line take menswear to a more simple and refined level. Items like exotic cashmere sweaters, mohair knits, deer hide bombers, reflect the outdoors aspect of the range. On the other hand, hand tailored Italian wool suits and cardigans reflect the sophisticated side. Japanese selvege denim is also featured in the collection for a more versatile series of jeans. Sahja is a prime example of how the outdoors gentleman can keep his ruggedness, while at the same time having the freedom to change into a more refined mode.
