Patek Philippe Limited Edition “Geneva Boutique” Watch
Patek Philippe & Co. is a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer located in Geneva and the Vallee de Joux. In 1868, Patek Philippe made their first wristwatch. They have also pioneered the perpetual calendar, split-seconds hand, chronograph, and minute repeater in watches. The company, like other Swiss manufacturers, produces mostly mechanical movements of the automatic and manual wind variety, but has produced quartz watches in the past and even a digital wrist watch, the Ref. 3414. Patek is notable for manufacturing its own watch components. Their timepieces have recorded high closing prices in auctions worldwide.

12 Year-Old Designer Damian Finch’s Fall 2009 Collection
Damian Finch doesn’t want you to choose the word “tween” to describe his collection. This twelve year-old, West Village designer is an ambitious kid with a knack for just creating “cool clothes.” His line consists of very mature and very current pieces that you’ll find in such boutiques like South Willard in LA or Odin in New York. It’s hard to imagine such raw talent at this age, but we know only good things can come out of it. We’re definitely glad to find out about Damian Finch, not only because he’s a 12 year-old fashion designer, but because we think his clothes are really well put together. Melkus RS2000
Melkus was a marque of single seat racing cars and sport cars founded by the race driver Heinz Melkus in Dresden in East Germany. The company existed between 1959 and 1986. The cars used engines from Wartburgs and much of the other parts came from Wartburgs and Trabants. The racing cars competed in Formula III, Formula Junior and Formula E. The only road going car the company produced was the Melkus RS1000. It was a sleek sports car powered by a tuned mid-mounted Wartburg 3-cylinder 2-stroke engine.
Melkus is due to release their RS 2000 sports car that will go on sale in November with annual production limited to 25 units. This new edition will have an aerodynamic body which draws inspiration from the classic Melkus RS 1000. Like the RS1000, the new RS 2000 features gullwing doors which have been specially engineered to swing out only a few centimeters to enable entry and exit in tight spaces. To reduce drag and improve downforce, Melkus RS2000 will sport a completely closed underbody, a large front lip spoiler, and a rear diffuser. Designed by Lutz Fügener and Jens Timmich, this new model follows the lightweight philosophy launched by company founder Heinz Melkus. The RS 2000 weighs less than 1,000 pounds (454kg) thanks to the aluminum chassis which is wrapped in a body constructed from carbon fiber. More info and images after the jump.
Issey Miyake Spring 2009
Issey Miyake creates an ensemble of versatile garments for the mild weather season this Spring 2009. We see an extensive collection that offers looks perfect for day wear to evening wear. There’s a great balance of comfort and styling in the pieces ranging from sweaters, tees, vests, suits, jackets, and even a tuxedo. Colors and patterns are emphasized with floral prints, checks, gradients, and more. In contrast, the hues chosen cover the spectrum from pastel to really bold neutrals and solids, which gives Miyake enthusiasts a lot of color options for the Spring. SAND Spring 2009
Copenhagen based label SAND exhibits fine tailoring, detailed prints, and quality accessories for their Spring 2009 lineup. Some items that standout are the floral pattern shirts, the silver shoes, and the grey slim suit. These are very clean and very well constructed European styles. New York City Photos by Phil Sharp
Phil Sharp is a UK based portrait photographer, who at his past visits in NYC have captured some really great photos of the city. “I wanted to capture some of the classic feel that remains (but is dissapearing) in NYC.” A lot of Phil Sharp’s shot are totally random everyday moments in the city, but he photographs them with such a vintage and really inspiring feeling, that some true New Yorkers will catch that nostalgia bug when looking at them.
