hillside-scarf-main

You_Have_Broken_The_Internet blog points us out to this wonderful scarf by Hill-Side. While the chambray love is still strong amongst the shirt circle, Hill-Side gives us a unique accessory for the fall season. The stitch detailing is superb as well as the color contrast of the indigo chambray and the lining. A number of these scarves will be available in November in Indigo, Black, Plum Violet, and Kyoto Violet.

2010 Kawasaki Concours 14

kawasaki-14-main

Kawasaki has made some great changes to their top-shelf sport tourer, the Concours 14. Most notably, the Concours gains a complete traction control system, along with revamped fairings and a larger windscreen, and second-generation ABS. It appears that the engineers over at the Green Machine were working overtime to update their biggest bike for the upcoming model year; while most other manufacturers were content to leave their motorcycles virtually unchanged, the Kawasaki also boasts heated grips, a fuel-economy management system, and a neater fit and finish compared to the outgoing model. While the engine and power output remain unchanged, gas mileage improves significantly, as does the two-wheeler’s handling. Aesthetically, the Concours seems to suffer from side-vent overkill, but we are willing to make an exception due to the overwhelming number of high-tech options offered. All this technology comes at a price though-the Concours 14 with ABS starts at $15,299.

Cottesloe House by Paul Burnham

cottesloe-house-main

A beachside suburb in Perth, Australia is home to this airy modern home by Paul Burnham. The pavilion-style home uses floor to ceiling glass that opens onto expansive terraces on both upper levels, allowing ocean breezes to move through the living spaces. A series of industrial fans mounted along the walls further facilitates interior air movement. Exposed concrete is prevalent throughout the home, most notably on interior ceilings, the kitchen island, and select exterior walls. The industrial exterior aesthetic is further enhanced by naturally weathered metal panels at ground level.

The Style of Mad Men – Brooks Brothers

style-of-mad-men-main

Ironic that a product inspired by a show about advertising didn’t need any ad-magic of its own to become a big seller. The $998 Don Draper inspired suit created by Mad Men wardrobe designer Janie Bryant for Brooks Brothers is already oversold. Since apparently the slick retro style that the series has helped to popularize is here to stay, plans for an expanded line of Mad-ish evening dresses, accessories, and additional suits is reportedly now in the works.
