After a release as epic and tear-jerking as Danger Mouse’s collaboration with Italian composer Daniele Luppi “Rome”, it only make sense that the animated video for “Two Against One”, featuring the ever prolific Jack White, has the ability to tug at your heart strings. Directed by Chris Milk and animated by Anthony Francis Sheppard, the clip is only meant to be a prologue for what Milk hopes will turn into live-action theatrical project set to the incredible soundtrack of “Rome.” Meant to be the “fever dream” of the protagonist, these images only bear one difference: you won’t forget the incredible sights and sounds when you wake up in the morning.

“Rome” from Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi is out now of Lex/EMI.

Yeah, The Roots might still be the house band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and anger presidential candidate Michelle Bachman every once and a while, but they’re still pretty damn good at doing one thing: putting together some great music. “One Time”, the latest cut from their upcoming LP Undun, is not one to buck the trend – an excellent, smooth head-bobbing track anchored by an unmistakable ?uestlove beat. With some addition impressive work from collaborates Phonte & Dice Raw, let’s hope that “One Time” is a good indicator of the upcoming collection of tracks.

You can pick up The Roots’ latest EP Undun on Dec. 6.

New York indie-darlings Cults apparently weren’t making a ridiculous joke when they talked about recording a rap mixtape based on their 2011 self-titled debut, and that’s certainly not a bad thing. The first track to surface is a remix of Bad Things featuring Indiana’s own Freddie Gibbs, adding some deliciously smooth verses over the dreamy guitars so signature to Cults’ sound. It might not seem right on paper, but this collaboration produces some excellent sounds of which we hope to hear more of soon.

Self-proclaimed former ‘skater punk’ Hanni El Khatib definitely has his fair share of unique characteristics: having a Middle Eastern and Filipino heritage, an interesting upbringing in San Francisco, and most importantly – his sound. OFIVE TV followed El Khatib on a recent promotional trip to Paris, putting together this well crafted interview that features some on-stage time as well as unprecedented insight into the musician’s world views. With an original sound and an even more original life, we know Hanni El Khatib will stick around and play more music for a while.

With a sound that’s been compared to bands such as Phoenix and Franz Ferdinand, Valencia natives Polock are well on their way to becoming a household name in the realms of indie rock. The five man group carries an easy going, down to earth sensibility, which translates seamlessly into their melodic songs. We had a chance to converse with Papu, Alberto, Marc, Sebastian, and Pablo about their style inspiration, creative process, and what club teams they support in Spain (hint: not one of them support their hometown club, Valencia C.F.).

While The Roots might spend their nights serving as the house band on Jimmy Fallon, they’ve spent their days recording their latest album, which is set to be released this year. Combining the always-stellar music of The Roots with the stark narrative structure comes the video for “Tip the Scale.” The song itself is great and the video only adds to the gritty message displayed in the song. “Scale” is the first song from The Roots soon to be released album Undun.

All three of these men should require absolutely no introduction, but are most deserving of all recognition, especially after this recent collaboration for the 10th Anniversary of Lex Records. Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood only increase their prolific influence on the modern music world by collaborating to produce the beat for “Retarded Fren,” which is graced by the notoriously unique flow of masked rapper/all-around obscure figure DOOM. Anchored by a ridiculously sleazy groove that conjures up images of Greenwood’s work on the “There Will Be Blood” soundtrack, one could imagine the film’s pure evil protagonist of Daniel Plainview participating in some mammoth brooding while jamming to this track. DOOM is also at the peak of his game, laying down references to Centrum Vitamins while making sure to solidify his image as a super villain. With these three, the possibilities are boundless.

You can stream the track now over at Lex Records.

Roughly a year ago, Kid Cudi released his stellar sophomore album Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager to acclaim and decent sales. While some of the songs are decidedly hit or miss, “Maniac” ft. Cage and St. Vincent always stood out as one of the best songs that Cudi had ever been a part of. Monday, Cudi released the video for Manaic and to simply call it a music video isn’t doing it justice. Directed by Shia LaBeouf of Transformers fame, the video chronicles the violent escapades of two serial killers. The video is decidedly not for everyone, but for those who are willing to watch the video, they shouldn’t be disappointed. “Maniac” is Cudi’s strongest video yet and that’s really saying something.

Check out the latest performance from electropop duo Holy Ghost! This unique performance is part of the Special Engagements series over on Noisey. Offering a FREE live stream of the concert on the website, the Special Engagements series offers the excitement of your favorite band thrashing live as well as an interactive element, allowing fans to vote for songs for the groups to play, instruments to use, even designing a new logo.

Brooklyn based Holy Ghost! originally started out in a hip-hop group, but following its dissolution, members Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel made the transition to popier, dance-inspired arrangements before finally finding their groove in time to release their debut single “Hold On” in 2007. The pair also dips their toes into the tricky but popular waters of remixing, retooling songs from MGMT, Pheonix, and one time tour-mates LCD Soundsystem. Holy Ghost! released their self-titled debut album in May of this year.

This Dell & Intel Special Engagement performance is only available for a limited time, so make sure you take a look before it vanishes.

Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland of The Crystal Method were picked to participate in the RE:GENERATION documentary directed by Amir Bar Lev (The Pat Tillman Story, My Child Can Paint That) and commissioned by Hyundai Veloster. Five chosen producer/DJs of today embark on a musical odyssey to create tracks inspired by one of five traditional musical genres: Jazz, R&B, Country, Classical and Rock. The pairings include Skrillex with The Doors, DJ Premier with the Berklee Symphony Orchestra, Mark Ronson with Erykah Badu, and Pretty Lights with Leann Rimes and Ralph Stanley.

The Crystal Method were paired with Martha Reeves for R&B and traveled to Detroit to work with her. Check the preview clip and here are some quick thoughts from Ken Jordan on the process:

Did you get to pick your genre for RE:GENERATION or was it picked for you? If you picked it – Why? And if not – How did you feel about it?

R&B was selected for us but we were more than happy with that genre. We’ve always loved funk and soul and knew that the roots of those were based in R&B.

How did your collaborators first react when you started working together?

I think everyone shared in a little cautious optimism. It’s hard to establish a good working rapport with someone immediately but as soon as we started working and talking it was great!

Were there any awkward or memorable moments?

There were some awkward moments while we were working on lyrics with Martha and I think it’s all caught on film, but overall, it was wonderful.

What is your biggest takeaway from working on this project?

Learning about Detroit and the tough road they have ahead.

Has working on RE:GENERATION inspired you to want to collaborate with any other artists, if so, who and why?

We often do collaborations and this film has definitely inspired us to do many more.
