Since 2005 designer Julian Meagher has been quietly creating children’s toys of remarkable style and quality. Made in the UK and designed by Meagher himself in his East London studio, the roadster, aeroplane and motorbike draw their inspiration from vintage vespas, classic car headlights and old biplanes. They are intended for children of all ages but quite frankly, it would be a pity to waste the minimalist curves and chunky proportions on kids. These things would look great on the shelf alongside your Rosendahl wooden monkey or Playsam Saab model – they exhibit a level of detail and attention to fit and finish that would shame many ‘grown-up’ consumer products. This shoulder strap pouch by Japanese label Public Image closely resembles a gun holster. Although not initially meant for your favorite firearm, this pouch is well sized enough for all your other smaller items. Leica S2 DSLR Camera
Not made for the amateur photographer, Leica, a brand famous for their cameras, will release its S2 DSLR camera in October for the price tag of approximately $23,000 (just for the body). The S2 features a 37.5 megapixel, 30×45mm sensor and a sapphire glass monitor. It’s also significantly smaller than other high end camera’s in its class, which makes for better maneuverability and flexibility without sacrificing the quality of picture. Zenith – Defy Xtreme Tourbillon Zero-G
Designed for handling extreme gravity conditions, Swiss watch manufacturers Zenith introduce an innovative time piece that “defies” all types of vertical limits from their DEFY XTREME 2009 collection.
The Defy Xtreme Tourbillon ZERO-G uses zero gravity (zero-g) technology, which features a carriage for the tourbillon (an escapement added to the watch mechanism to counter gravity) in a free-moving gyrospcopic-styled housing. The timepiece also includes regulator gears that are conical shaped so no matter how the watch is positioned, the tourbillon always points down, which ensures optimal amplitude for the spiral balanced-wheel.
In layman’s terms, you can move the watch in any position, but the gears will always remain horizontal.

Leatherman Damascus Wave Multi-Tool
It is not unusual for companies to look back at their own history to find the inspiration for new products. Leatherman though, has gone even further back when they created the new Damascus Wave Multi-Tool. Actually, they have gone back around one thousand years and used a material thought to have been first made in ancient Persia and India.
The technique, which relies on laminating two different steel grades, creates distinctive patterns and this has been used to great effect by Leatherman, contrasting with a rich, coffee-coloured DLC coating for the handle. Fittingly for a product inspired by a process a millenia old, only one thousand will be made. Check the Leatherman site for availability.

Globalist magazine, Monocle, has teamed up with Japanese retailer Beams to create a special edition watch that will launch in August. Only 200 of these watches will be made available in both the olive finish and brown color option.
