At the Palais de Tokyo contemporary art gallery in Paris, artist Laurent Grasso and chef Gilles Stassart collaborated to create the Nomiya Restaurant. Part of the Electrolux sponsored ArtHome experience, it sits atop the gallery, where 12 patrons at a time can enjoy panoramic views of the city. The restaurant is a simple glass box, with perforated cladding covering the kitchen and preparation area. The glass walls are lit with colored LED’s, making the structure a visible beacon from miles away. Reservations are taken approximately one month in advance.

Tucked in a corner of the East Village Manhattan, Double Crown is a fresh establishment celebrating the 19th century British presence in the countries of the Far East and South Asia. Super designers AvroKo blessed the restaurant/lounge with classic colonial style and a menu filled with an array of ecclectic dishes such as Lamb and Cashew meatballs and Tandoori marinated Foie Gras with Earl Gray prunes. The cocktail director, Brian McGrory, has compiled a drink menu that specializes in vodkas and gins which can be topped with various preserves such as cranberry, and bramley apple; all of which are made on the premises. More Images of Double Crown after the jump.

Not familiar with Hg2? Here is a small excerpt about the company’s philosophy:

Our brand of hedonism taps into the spirit of Whatever Works for You – from chic boutique hotels to well-kept-secret restaurants locals don’t want tourists to find out about. We do not mindlessly seek out the most expensive; instead, we search high and low for the absolute/very best a city has to offer. Of course there is always a side order of great bars and hot clubs – but you’d demand nothing less. If this strikes a chord, Hg2 is for you.

At Vermilion is a new Indian-Latin restaurant in the Lexington-and-40’s area of New York. A branch of the critically-acclaimed Chicago restaurant of the same name, this new dining spot is sure to be a must try for anyone into Indian-Fusion cuisine. The minimalist aesthetics of the place is inspired by muted hues of black, white, and gray for the most part. Photographs of Indian fashion and dancers are displayed throughout also to give it a more stylish flair. Cocktails such as their “Pani Puri Chaat Margarita,” made with turmeric is unique but intriguing. And for true Indian-Fusion cuisine, most of the choices on the menu are vegetarian.

Did you know that wineries can’t use the word “port” on wine labels unless they’re really from Portugal? As a name loophole against the European Union’s rules Pletier Station got clever with the packaging and naming of their “USB Port Wine.” The $25 bottle, which is actually a true Zinfandel port, is made with a serious nose of chocolate, balanced with ruby cherry and spice. Sounds good enough for a try, especially as a wine to accompany your desserts.

New York City might not have the fresh air of the Colorado Mountains, but we now have something close enough. The Aspen Social Club is now open for drinks, and soon, some worthwhile eats. The restaurant and after hour spot is brought to you by High Bar and Amalia owner Greg Bier. Designed by Steve Lewis, the Aspen Social Club, brings you an unfamiliar mixture of what can be described as a luxury ski house vibe. Heavy on ceramic antlers dominating the ceiling, wood planks, vintage couches, and colorful etched glass fixtures, this restaurant/bar is definitely a new spot to put on your list when in town for some dinner. Read more to check out the menu and to see more images.
