Dream Cars of the Future Since 1950
As car enthusiasts, we all marvel at concept car designs by the many car manufacturers in the world. Yet, some of those concepts, will forever remain just that, a concept car that would never go into mass manufacturing stage for us to enjoy. Now think about this notion, and imagine how it was in the past, beginning in the year 1950. Imagine how all concept cars were thought of and designed in the olden days. Some were successes and some never saw the light of day. Luckily, a new exhibit has opened entitled “Dream Cars of the Future Since 1950″ to show the public the many designs and prototypes that have surfaced in the car industry. Organized by the Torino 2008 World Design Capital in with the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile “Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia,” the exhibit features over 50 prototypes with three rooms just for audiovisual and virtual presentations. If you’re ever in Torino, make sure to catch this exhibit. If you can’t, check out some of the images after the jump.

Faces Of Evil
Faces-of-Evil is an art exhibit showcasing the portraits of the 13 most notorious dictators of our time including Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and Saddam Hussein, etc. What’s even more interesting about these images is that designer, Hans Weishäupl construced these portraits from a montage of photos of numerous citizens from the given country each dictator ruled. See some more of the faces up close after the jump.
Between November, 2007 and March, 2008, we took photographs of over 350 people in Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Dresden, Frankfurt, Berlin, Amsterdam, Moscow, Belgrade, London, Barcelona, Paris and Milan. From them emerged the thirteen FACES OF EVIL, assembled from faces of people of the same ethnic origin as the according dictators. For example, the portrait of Hitler consists of 37 people. His nose belongs to an estate agent from Berlin, his upper lip to a locksmith in Dresden. His hair is put together from the hair of an artist in Weiden and a painter in Bamberg. The chin stems from a Hamburg restaurant owner, the eyes are those of a bank advisor in Frankfurt, the lachrymal sacks are from a precision mechanic in Bautzen, the throat is that of a Viennese banker, the beard belongs to a chef from Wuppertal… Every wrinkle, eyebrow and mole has been replicated true to the original so that it is possible to get a direct and close impression of every scar, nose hair, wide pore and other fine details.
