Filmed using only a Cannon EOS C300 Camera, the short film “Mobius” packs in all the action of a summer blockbuster into the frame of an eleven and a half minute film. The story centers on a photojournalist, who in pursuit of the perfect photo of a drug cartel is spotted and in the eyes of the cartel, must be captured and killed.

Directed by Vincent Laforet “Mobius” is a must see for any film fan who enjoys action, thrills and interestingly ambiguous endings.

Although the physically punishing nature of boxing and the physically graceful nature of modeling don’t usually mix, English boxer slash model Dudley O’Shaughnessy seems to have the extremely high level of intensity of maintain excellence in both fields. After following his father and brother into the ring at age nine, O’Shaughnessy quickly rose through the ranks to become the senior Amateur Boxing Association welterweight champion last year. But O’Shaughnessy doesn’t only put on the gloves, actively modeling and starring in short films, including Rhianna’s newest track “We Found Love.” In this short film from photographer Sharif Hamza, O’Shaughnessy ruthlessly pummels the bag in his trademark sleek style while the powerful and abrasive sounds of his fury provide a beatdown for the ears. It wouldn’t be a good idea to get in Dudley O’Shaughnessy’s way, either on the runway or in the ring.

Created by visionary Sergio Albiac comes an innovative and new art form. The videorative portrait brilliantly combines modern aspects of multimedia into the classic portrait form of art, allowing Albiac to blaze a path in the modern art world as a talented and creative force to be reckoned with.

Albiac starts his process by gathering videos of his subject and the proceeds to distill the videos into a moving and awe inducing form or new wave art.

Whether you’re an art collector or a lover of multimedia, these portraits are worth taking a second look at.

Akke Functional Art’s Axel Yberg is at his finest again, moving from the realm of table-tennis to music with his latest creation: “Bo Biddley.” After donating the rights to a custom piece of furniture to the highest bidder at a charity auction, Yberg received a request to make a coffee table. Using guitar strings to create this tensegrity table (think the same principles that hold up a suspension bridge), Yberg put together an incredible mash-up of wood and glass that takes it’s name from legendary blues guitarist Bo Diddley. The stings are completely functional as well – playing a trio of different pitches when plucked. After throwing in a couple of mother-of-pearl guitar picks, Yberg had successfully created another awe-inspiring piece of functional art.

Already a partner at a successful real estate firm, Nicolas Hermann decided to pursue another passion: photography. And we can’t fault him for it: his recent collection of photos from a trip to India are absolutely striking. Working mostly in black and white, Hermann believes that the colorless photos provide “a sense of drama” that can’t gather from a color-filled image. Hermann’s photography, aided by his trust Leica M9, manages to capture some incredible images of the South Asian continent, telling stories that only an image could tell.

Artist Dean Walton’s recent crop of movie posters designs focus on the geek cult following behind many beloved, and successful feature films from the past forty years. By playing up the nerdy angle of these films, Walton is able to show the devoted followings these films have by placing the heroes of the film front in center. While it’s only the characters silhouette, the artist is able to perfectly capture how the main characters in the film are so incredibly iconic.

Currently on display at the Guggenheim in New York is a retrospective for artist Maurizio Cattelan, one of the more provocative and experimental figures within the modern art landscape. Cattelan’s art focuses on describing the state of the world, and culture for that matter, in a popular art form.

The designs, creations and sculptures by the author are both enthralling and highly polarizing, leaving audiences and art critics alike divided regarding whether or not Catellan is a talented artist or simply deranged.

Either way, if you’re in New York this is an exhibit not to miss.
