Florsheim by Duckie Brown

Proving the collaboration trend might have some staying power, Duckie Brown is releasing a second collection for Florsheim. The SS10 uses classic lasts (lace-ups, loafers, and brogues) and classic materials (full grain leather, leather welts, and suede) in unique colors, including yellow, aqua, and navy. Perhaps the highlight of the collection is the saddle shoe, rendered in combinations like aqua and brown. Available at Forward.

Made from ultra-light alloy and magnesium, the watch was selected in the “Sports watch” category of the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève awards 2009. Available now.

Magrette Taniwha Engraved Gold Inlaid Watch

Because sometimes a piece is so well-crafted it’s borderline obscene to wear it, lest it be damaged, we can’t, in good conscience, advise anyone to actually wear the Magrette Taniwha. With hand engraved scenes that take hours to create, all inlaid in gold, the watch feels more like a piece of art than any mere timepiece. Also features a soft black leather strap with it’s own engraving, as well as a sapphire caseback window. Available at Margrette.

Bedwin & The Heartbreakers – FUDGE Magazine Editorial

Bedwin’s spread in FUDGE magazine just shows how much difference styling can make. As previously featured here on Swipelife, Bedwin’s fally/winter collection was a fairly straightforward reworking of American classics, with a pop of color. However, in this spread, entitled Traveling of a Stranger, the collection is reimagined as a vaguely western road-trip, complete with cropped trousers and leather hats. Clearly conceived for a different audience, the collection, frankly, suffers. It’s a challenge to see the appeal in loose maroon trousers with a buffalo checked shirt and a black on black varsity jacket. All the same, still an interesting take on the collection.

Conference of Birds – Fall/Winter 2009 Lookbook

With Autumn’s chill starting to set in, Conference of Birds A/W 09 lookbook becomes increasingly more relevant and needed. With thick scarves and chunky sweaters, as well as cozy wool overcoats and leather dusters, the latest collection steps into a more rugged realm of British sensibilities, a noted departure from the previous year’s tailored, somewhat youthful take on cold-weather clothing.

Richard Mille RM 028 Diver

The Richard Mille RM 028 Diver continues on the successful heels of Richard Mille’s RM 025 Tourbillon Chronograph, with similar function and quality in a less auspicious case. A true diver’s watch, it’s water resistant to 300 meters and offers 55 hours of power. Perhaps most impressively, the watch can be adjusted for the owner’s lifestyle–with the setting of the rib able to be modified to speed up or slow down depending on the wearer’s activity level.
Universal Works – Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

With quite a few pieces reminiscent of J. Crew’s recent offerings, Universal Works Spring/Summer collection features white oxfords, khakis and chambray–not to mention a welcomed resurgence of madras. Coming founder A more daring aesthetic may be expected from founder David Keyte (formerly of Paul Smith, Maharishi, and Albam), but that would overlook the accessibility of this collection, where nearly every piece is interchangeable. Available at Oi Polloi.
