Sjaak Hullekes – Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

Menswear designer Sjaak Hullekes was the winner of last year’s Dutch Fashion Award 2009. Entitled “Small Town Boy,” his Fall/Winter collection is identified by its modern Dandy looks. The styles are relaxed and unique and seems to reflect the current styles of Western Europe. Chunky knit sweaters become outerwear, and the blazer and trousers combo contain a nice pastel color. According to Hullekes, his collection emphasizes fragility and efficiency in men’s clothing, all while bringing together a sense of romanticism for the collection.

Industrial North Design Watches

Luxury watch brand Industrial North Design recently released two new distinctive, modern watches based on the automotive background of the company’s founders, Andy Shaw and Robert Silkstone. The Britannic and Vanguard-Precision both combine automotive aesthetics with infinitely-repetitive geometric sequences, including the Fibonacci sequence and Geodesic domes. Both models have deep stainless cases and sunken, patterned faces, which require intensive production methods and extreme attention to detail. Accordingly, only 15 examples of each will be produced.

A.P.C – Duffle Coat

Swedish style shop FreudianKicks has punted a gray A.P.C. duffle coat into its online shop. Toggled and hooded, it clearly carries the hushed, timeless charm of all of A.P.C.’s designs, but for that truly French flavor of cool we kindly recommend a decidedly snugger fit than that of the model’s pictured on the F-Kicks website. Such a coat calls to be worn taut and trim, not loose and lazy.

We Were Once a Fairytale by Spike Jonze with Kanye West

What was originally meant to be the video for prolific rapper, Kanye West’s “See You in My Nightmares”, eventually transformed into the 14 minute short film directed by Oscar nominated director Spike Jonze, We Were Once a Fairy Tale. Jonze, who’s directed cult classics such as Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and the upcoming Where The Wild Things Are has previously worked with West on the video for “Flashing Lights”. We Were Once a Fairytale will release on September 8th via iTunes and feature a cameo from skateboarder/blogger/Kanye’s stylist Ibn Jasper.

 

Apartment Interior by K2LD Architects

This Apartment interior was done by K2LD Architects. The warm coffee brown and black color environment features a very minimalist approach in its furniture and overall appearance. The lighting is also very subtle and unique in terms of placement, as it shines partially on the floors throughout the space. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, which makes for a great livable space.

 

Hutson Fall/Winter 2009

With the recent end of Swaim and Christina Huston’s label Obedient Sons & Daughters, comes the launch of the appropriately named new label, Hutson. Quick to resurrect their new designs without the restrictions of what they really want to create, the duo comes out with a collection for the Fall/Winter 2009 that is sure to please followers of their old label. The result is a direction towards more oversized shapes that hightlights the masculine form.
