Biofueled Skycar 2009 Expedition
Advancements in flying car technology is upon us, although not really similar to what some of us have imagined. The Biofuel Skycar is set to embark on a 3,700 mile land/air journey from London to Timbuktu this January. The Skycar is able to go from land to air in 3 minutes thanks to a lightweight Parawing that is powered by a large fan built into the back of the vehicle and can reach impressive air speeds of 100 mph. The Skycar is also certified for street use and its 140bhp Yamaha R1 engine can run on Ethenol. It might not be like the cars from Back to the Future II but we’re glad its environmentally friendly. Piaggio MP3 Hybrid Scooter
Italian manufacturer Piaggo, makers of Vespa, are set to release their new MP3 Hybrid next year. The MP3 Hybrid is the first ever mass produced hybrid scooter and does not lack on performance. It will feature a 125cc four stroke gasoline engine capable of going 0 – 60 in about 5 seconds all while boasting an eco-friendly 141 MPG. The battery can be recharged within 3 hours with a regular wall socket or via regenerative braking. The MP3 Hybrid also has the capability of running on four different modes: all electric or 3 different hybrid modes. Several reports claim the price tag will be around $7,000.
