The Rig Out is a small publication that is produced alongside the folks at Oi Polloi. With its second issue coming out soon, expect some great editorials and photos by the likes of Daiki Suzuki and more. Considered as “A Guid to Style in Life,” the men’s magazine brings about a different angle on men’s style. We’ve just received some previews that are definitely worth the look, and could be a signal of better things to come from an aspiring small magazine.

Make Ink – Project Origins

Project Origins comes from the collective known as Make Ink. Make Ink specializes in arts based branding projects such as recent works they’ve done with Levi’s and Adidas. Their newest work is a spoof Adidas campaign highlighting the heritage and history of the ‘brand with three stripes.’ According to Nick Hussey, Director of Make Ink: ‘Project Origins’ is a concept created by us at Make Ink to test the online environment. We specialise in the subversion of branding through art… and like everybody else, we love dinosaurs”

The Pop Up Flea Event

Why wait till Black Friday to do some much needed “personal” shopping when you have the Pop Up Flea coming this weekend. Organized by Michael Williams (ACL) and Randy Goldberg, the event has an exciting lineup of brands and familiar names such as Billykirk, Rogues Gallery, J. Crew, Gitman Brothers, and more.

The event will take place at 201 Mulberry Street, Between Spring and Kenmare, New York City.

The Cycles of Fashion Article from The Washington Post

The Washington Post has an interesting article on the District’s latest Tweed Run. The event is a chance for ladies and gents to dandy up their wardrobe and stroll down the D.C. streets in their old model bicycles. The article further explains the growing trend of Dandyism and how it is able to bring people who have a fascination of those times together. It also mentions that the rise of the Dandy is paralleled to the growing fashion community such as Alexander McQueen’s Fall Fashion Lineup, and sites like The Art of Manliness and Rules for My Unborn Son.

Steven Alan has partnered with V Australia to release a new limited-edition “Perfect Bag.” As part of the process, Steven flew to Australia to soak in different inspirations from the Continent for the bag he is designing. To keep those who can’t wait informed, the designer has turned to blogging and tweeting to give out updates and information on his latest findings and progress. Not only is he doing this to keep fans up to date, but it is also a way for him to receive feedback on how the outcome of the perfect travel bag should be. The bag will debut in December of 2009. Textures, shapes, and patterns were specifically taken from the tribe’s Hopi Kachina dolls and mixed it with the ideals of pioneering, traveling, and the interactions of the native populations.
