The Krishnan House in India by Khosla Associates is a low slung architectural design that shows off vernacular designs surrounded with a lot of greens. The home is made up of sloped Mangalore tiled roofs with some Shira stone clad parts in contrast with rough flooring and some polished Kota and teak. Upon entering, one can see the vertical series of ribbed timber louvres as a simple divider in between the house and the garden.
The living space is grand in volume and it has emphasized verticality with its floor to ceiling windows with some sheer linen blinds for a soft morning light. The living room area lead to a wooden deck continuing into a wrap right around the verandah that overlook the courtyard garden. The ground floor comes with the living, study, dining, home theater, kitchens, guestrooms while the three other bedrooms are seen on the upper floor along with the family room, meditation and yoga space.
