The bold style of artist Julian Schnabel is slated to return to the US audience. He has not showcased in the US since the 1980’s. It was during the late ‘70s when his own unique style has gathered critical opinions when he got active at the New York art scene. His credibility as an artist was nearly overshadowed by his accomplishments as a movie director, especially for stellar projects such as “The Driving Bell and the Butterfly” and “Basquiat.”
The short video clip profiles Schnabel in his home studio as he prepares for his triumphant return to the art scene. He shares his philosophies and relationships on creating his work.
Schnabel’s exhibition ‘Every Angel Has a Dark Side’ runs at The Dairy Art Centre from April 25 through July 27 2014. ‘View of Dawn in the Tropics: Paintings, 1989-1990’ opens at the Gagosian Gallery, NY on April 17 – May 31. ‘Julian Schnabel: An Artist Has A Past (Puffy Clouds and Strong Cocktails)’ is at the Dallas Contemporary until 10 August.
