The yearly Boston Marathon made a mark last year due to the tragic bombing that killed three people and injured hundreds. Now, a brand new year for the popular running event transpires and inspires everyone to start over again. This year’s marathon is reclaimed by more runners with a record crown number that reached up to a million people. This is deemed as twice the usual stats it gets.
Despite the anticipated fear that may have grown in the hearts of audiences, the tragic past of the event did not stop everyone from being a part once again of the momentous occasion. Meb Keflezighi won the marathon for the very first time since ’83 while Kenya’s Rita Jeptoo defended her own title in the women’s race category.
