The Sugar Bowl Residence is a brand new home located in the old Sugar Bowl village. With the snow blocks as constraints, the John Maniscalco Architecture team came up with an elegant solution. They used a simple bent planar for its roof so that it can gather snow packs and shed it straight to the rear of the home – far from the pedestrian traffic.
On its upper level, its residence allows amazing mountain views straight from the master bedroom suite and from its other living spaces. Its interior consists of fir, walnut, concrete and some steel to strike the right balance of materials. It delivers the perfect rustic ambiance of a mountain home.
