It was last year when a racy teaser was released for the dark crime comedy film “Filth” which stars James McAvoy. It has already been released in the UK and been hailed as a cinematic triumph. Now that it is about to hit the US this Spring, a new trailer shows a more raunchy character portrayal of the actor as a bipolar and corrupt cop. It is one movie that McAvoy has never been seen portraying before especially when recently associated with his role as Charles Xavier in the X-Men movie franchise.
There’s certainly a buzz about what author Irvine Welsh helped bring to the movie. Immortalized for his work on Trainspotting, his novel for Filth contains similar themes of hallucination, excess, and grotesque. John Baird adapts the novel for his screenplay and directs the film.
