We here at the SwipeLife offices are big fans of McDonald’s famous Chicken McNuggets. One of the most frequently asked questions of the fast food giant is how exactly is a McNugget made. McDonald’s Canada recently produced a video to debunk the myth that McNuggets contain mechanically separated chicken known as “pink goop.” The video tours the Cargill factory where McNuggets are made and shows the step-by-step production of one of McDonald’s most popular foods.
According to McDonald’s the main ingredients of Chicken McNuggets are ground chicken breast meat, chicken skin, and seasonings and not the rumored pink goop. The mix is shaped, twice battered, and lightly fried before being packaged for the restaurants. Thankfully, we can rest a little easier knowing that the McNugget is a little less mysterious and we can continue to devour this guilty pleasure by the billions each year. Don’t forget your dipping sauces!
