One of a kind American photographer Christopher Morris takes moving pictures of the New York City subway scene in a whole new level, preferably that of the 1980s. His collection of images called ‘NYC subway 1981’ reveals the different side of the city scene when it was still filled with graffiti, grime and all the hustle and bustle of commuters, especially at night.
The exceptional photos of Morris featured in designboom also included two from the group started way back in 1979 that helped in fighting the spread of violence within the subway. The organization called “Guardian Angels” were the ones who look over scenes that happen on the subway to bring improvement to the not-so-good situations that transpire.
The most amazing thing about the photographer’s work is his way of retelling how much New York City has seen it all, from its filthy dark past and emerging as a newly healed and re-organized place.
