Just last week, Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci released photos of his newest spin on the classic Nike Air Force 1. Tisci gives us a taste of how high end fashion would tweak a classic sneaker by not only releasing the regular Air Force Hi and Low but pushing the limits by creating a Mid-calf version as well as a knee high version of the shoe. Tisci tells “telegraph” fashion blog this, “I travel all over the world, and they wear the Air Force 1, and they wear it in so many different ways. And so I was thinking, what is the essence of the Air Force 1? And how do I take that essence and make my own statement? For me the Air Force 1 is not about gender, it’s not about the particular city, nor is it about a certain style. The community decides. It’s democratic. It’s love.” The white color way is set to release March 1st while the black color way is set to release April 1st. Both sneakers will be sold in select retailers and on Nikelab.com.
Riccardo Tisci has also designed 3 more nike basketball shoes which have yet to be released but are still in high anticipation.
