I reserve the right to be critical of this show because I am a huge fan of Margaret Howell. It’s very true that she has a strict design point of view that hardly waivers, which has adorned her with many fans and critics alike. Everyone knows what they are going to get with her collection, and Fall/Winter 2014 offers up more of the minimal, workwear-inspired fashion. I think I saw one green-hued knit on the runway, but the runway saw many greys, navy, and brown (which happened to be the pop on the runway). There were well-constructed sweaters including cable knits and luxurious-yet-simple turtlenecks. Less impressive to me were the fair-isle sweaters. I am lusting over the subdued polk-a-dot ties though.
