Stefano Pilati’s collection for Zegna Fall/Winter 2014 was very focussed and well-executed. A few of the recurring themes seen throughout the presentation included the color story of plum and navy-tones, quilted outerwear, and various plaid styles. The plaids came in several different check sizes, but were always tamed by the dark, muted colors used. I particularly liked the variety of wool bombers that came down the runway in quilted, striped, or plaid. Zegna always managed to convey luxury with the use of materials and styling. Some of the more fun styling elements included the leather rain boots and formal pajama shirts paired with the suiting.
