Producing a visual image of a scent is no easy task, but when you’ve got the new Sony Scent Capturing Postcard Printer, it certainly can be doable. This incredible device by China based designer Li Jingxuan uses state of the art technology to analyze smells from foods and translate them into a postcard. It features a sensor that acts as an electronic nose and simulates captured fragrances by mixing aroma based inks stored in the device and transfers them onto a photo-paper stock module. The user can then peel a flap on the back side of the image to reveal captured scents. The device is all about translating smells to visual images and was designed with the idea of capturing and sharing moments in time.
