The massive one-story home in Sao Paulo, Brazil known as the V4 House stretches to extremities to include a wide range of rooms and public living spaces. The house has a vast concrete roof with integrated beams that extend perpendicular to it and disappear into the natural stone directly below. The public living spaces are surrounded by four slender columns that are wrapped in retractable glass doors to provide exposure to the great outdoors. The views that can be seen just outside the house are truly amazing, both during the night and day. And while it may seem like the entire perimeter is exposed to the outside, there are in fact private bedrooms contained within a wooden box extension that is shaded from direct light and hence easily acclimated. The exterior is just as remarkable as the interior, with a vast array of plants and gardens surrounding the area. The V4 House has been listed under the house category of the 2012 World Architecture Festival.
