Daiki Suzuki’s Engineered Garments released a Spring/Summer 2013 lookbook that infused American-based pieces with Japanese sensibility and on-trend pattern usage. The photos were shot in black and white, but the prints are loud and busy enough to stand out against the soft, rumpled workwear and neutrally colored tailored basics. Floral prints, paisley, patchwork, and polka dots repeatedly appear among unstructured blazers, anoraks, shorts and other seasonal essentials. The label also chose an urban New York setting for the lookbook rather than the natural backdrops it often favored. The collection is a fresh of breath air for those who want to be individualistic.
