Anna Stepankova, a Czech design student, created and designed the Tamashii Chair. Inspired by a Japanese veneer technique called Bunaco, her goal was to use all the possibilities this technique offers in an innovative way. She handmade the chair with wooden material and applied a traditional technique into a modern design. To give the chair a purpose and meaning, she developed the concept of ‘buy a chair, get a tree.’ In this way, she is able to fulfill her duty of taking responsibility for the environment while hoping her customers will feel attracted to the product’s own story. Not only would this piece of furniture be a beautiful addition to your home, but you will also receive a natural-born tree made from the finest hands.
