Fiona Apple released a new album called The Idler Wheel is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do. The title is certainly a mouthful, but the album tracks have just as much to say. In Interview Magazine, Apple was interviewed by Matt Diehl and a bunch of interesting information was revealed. Apple debuted at the age of 18 and ever since, she’s been skyrocketing with her career. She’s broken a world record with her longest titled album in 1999 and gave a noteworthy speech during the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards for winning Best New Artist. Over the years, she experienced a lot as a teenager and as an adult, but the one thing that hasn’t changed is her values and humorous personality. Apple takes on life with a head first attack towards tragedy, bringing herself to the pain before it gets to her first. The idea sounds depressing, but the singer explains her values in a lighthearted way and makes sure that no one has to worry. It’s the way she believes humans will be able to survive. The concept of the Idler Wheel is also how she views herself and everyone else. Each person is an idler wheel inside a big mix of gears that is connected to everything. Every person has a part and will make a difference. It’s eminent that Fiona Apple is an amazing singer and possesses incredible talents. However, it’s astonishing to also know that her character is just as beautiful and honest as her voice.
