With big camera rigs increasingly going the way of the dinosaur, it’s no surprise that cameras like the Canon EOS-1D C are storming the beaches of video production. As the first DSLR with the ability to shoot video in 4K (let’s just say it’s a ridiculous amount of pixels), this EOS doesn’t only capture moving pictures, but still ones as well – in continuous bursts at up to 14 frames a second, all with unbelievably crisp image quality that can’t be rivaled. But perhaps the most appealing aspect of the camera is the size: even with the substantial wide angle lens, the EOS-1D is small enough to fit in a decent sized bag for transport to and from any job for the modern filmmaker. The rumored price tags of $12,000 might seem a little steep, but this little beast of a machine is well worth it.
