There aren’t many music videos that can claim they were adapted from a novel written by the same musician, but George Lewis Jr. of Twin Shadow is prolific – and deadly, as evident by this beautiful clip for his song “Five Seconds,” directed by Keith Musil. Lewis Jr’s 80′s inspired, synth driven track is laid over a total beat down of masked thugs post motorcycle theft, channeling something much like 70′s cult classic The Warriors for a stylish gang fight for the ages. The fog heavy forest setting only adds to the drama of this video, making it what seems more like the trailer for a movie than a music video. And with Twin Shadow behind the music and the story, it would be a movie we wouldn’t mind watching.
“Five Seconds,” from Twin Shadow’s upcoming record Confess, drops July 10 on 4AD records.
