It’s been a long ten years since we’ve had a new Spiderman grace us with his presence at the box office, when Tobey Maguire started slinging webs around New York city that would pave the way for the new reign of the summer blockbuster at the box office. But Spidey fans don’t have to wait any longer – 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb’s reboot of the superhero franchise is due out this summer with rising star Andrew Garfield set to slide into the suit and fight some crime. VMAN recently put both Maguire and Garfield together to talk about their franchise and how it’s completely changed their acting careers, and by extension their entire lives. Even a decade on, Maguire remembers how his turn as the comic book hero took him to a new level and gives Garfield his blessing for taking over the responsibility of keeping a fictional NYC safe. This intimate insight into the actors behind the mask only make the hype behind July 3rd’s Amazing Spiderman release even greater.
