When one thinks of sports cars, especially Porsches, a fuel efficient hybrid is not the first image that comes to mind isn’t a rubber burning German super machine. But the company aims to expand their innovative boundaries with the 918 Spyder Hybrid, a vehicle with a lithium ion battery that can stand to complete all of the heavy duty work that a care such as this is meant to do. A 770 horsepower engine means that there won’t be any skimping on power, allowing the 918 hybrid to sprint from 0-60 mph in under three seconds. The exterior design is reminiscent of the classic 917 Porsche racing cars, combining the best of both design and power into a car that isn’t completely unfriendly to the world it inhabits. Expect the Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid on the market by September 2013.
