Milan fashion week routinely pumps out massive amounts of menswear year after year after year, and January 2012 has already offered up a fine helping of both gaudy and gargantuan threads. Falling in the sometime under appreciated middle ground is Italian designer Ermanno Scervino’s fall/winter 2012 collection, playing up some bold textures in both knitwear and blazers. Although a relatively neutral color palate exists throughout the collection, small pops of whites, light blues and reds keep things lively. Even one of the most pervasive trends out of Milan, the turtleneck, isn’t left out of the fray, making some bold, striped appearances under blazers and all out on their own. Scervino’s collection provides a unique look without going too far out of the box, a facet that can be appreciated by any man aiming to look good without looking like a member of the circus.
