Serum Vs. Venom (SVSV) aims to bridge a connection with the consumer world while challenging the thinking and practices of today’s fashion industry. They have committed themselves to releasing high quality garments, but are not adhering to the convention of releasing seasonal looks. More or less, SVSV releases a collection when they feel it has come to completion; they have edited the collection after assessing all iterations of their themes.
SVSV’s latest line can be previewed in their new press release. The apparent themes are inspired by ethnic Ikat patterns and military design. It’s an intriguing fusion of two distinct styles. The Ikat pattern shows up numerous times in their knitwear. There is a large emphasis on comfort as evidenced in the fits and the sweatshirt material. All of the military elements, like the compartments in the outerwear and trousers, are thoughfully executed. And much like military goods, the construction of the clothing is made to be durable. The fine knits are exclusively developed in Canada by Roopa Knitting Mills, and all pieces are produced at SVSV’s in-house factory, Brooklyn Sewn.
