For soccer fans, this is like the Milan derby. You have the two biggest giants in the Italian automotive industry, Ferrari and Lamborghini, facing off against each other. On one side is the Ferrari 458 Italia and on the other is the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. Underground Racing did, however, have the not so wonderful idea of doing this on a public highway. I would tell you not to try this at home, but it’s doubtful you have these two cars just sitting in your garage. The 458 on its own is no match for the Aventador. So what does any good athlete do? If you guessed performance enhancement, you’re right. Underground installed a twin-turbocharging system on the Ferrari so try and level the playing field a bit. It appeared to work as the 458 left its competitor in the dust.
I’m laying down the challenge right now. My 1996 Toyota Corolla can beat either of these cars any day of the week. Just name the time and place so I can inform state highway patrol there will be a foreign supercar driving incredibly high speeds on the specified highway.
