It isn’t a stretch saying that some works of art are so visually appealing they would be worth living in, such as Edward Hopper’s “Nighthawks” or Van Gogh’s images of the Dutch countryside. But Joaquin Torres, director of Spanish architecture firm A-cero has taken the sentiment to a new level, designing this home for personal use that would belong in an art museum if it wasn’t already one itself. Located near Madrid, Spain, the home is mostly constructed from winding, fluid-like concrete layers that elegantly rise from the water that is neatly integrated with the complex. Complete with a gym and indoor swimming pool, the house has an open layout stuffed with classic A-cero designs and works of art, making the residence a sort of meta-art: art inside of a work of art. And like many other pieces of creative mastery, this house is positively stare worthy.
