Fashion week in the Big Apple may be over, but menswear has crossed the pond, storming the runways of London for another go. Among the standouts is Oliver Spencer (recently nominated for a 2011 British Fashion award) whose Spring/Summer ’12 collection features some blisteringly cool looks. The bright colors of Spring easily pop off on the runway, dominated by a pair of light salmon slacks and light brown capped toe oxfords that just seem to bleed positivity. The colors aren’t the only star of the show, as white polka-dots on a sky blue button down bring eye excitement to an entirely new level, as well as the delicately patterned fuscia jacket paired with a light blue scarf.
As spring weather can be fickle, layering holds great importance, which is evident with Spencer’s collection. Lightweight jackets seem to rest easily on the shoulders of a cotton shirt, allowing you to not forego practicality entirely while keeping a fashionable image. The collection is self described as “Yacht Rock,” and we couldn’t think of any better way to classify it.
