Rich Pellegrino did a fantastic job of creating a piece of artwork that provides questions to the onlooker. The faces within The Royal Tenenbaums appear to be staring at a specific object or person. Because most of the people within the painting have their eyes going forward, it poses the question, “are they looking at me?” If they are indeed focused on the one ultimately looking back at them, why are they looking, and what is Rich Pellegrino trying to express?
The posters of this Pellegrino painting come on an 18” x 20” piece of 300# Italian cold-press watercolor paper. Pellegrino signed 200 of these replicas which are on sale now at Spoke Art.

I love this style of art work and it just seems so appropriate for the Royal Tenenbaums! The colors are great too.
Good article.
